1. How long have you been involved with Douglas County School District? 36 years

2. What motivated you to run for the Board of Trustees? Opportunity to serve at a critical time in the history of the School District.

3. What’s your favorite part about serving as a Trustee? Interaction with staff, students and the challenging issues facing the District.

4. What is your favorite memory or experience with Douglas County schools? Serving as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff and participating in the SRO program at DHS

5. Where did you grow up, and where did you go to school? Grew up in Southern California (Redondo Beach) Graduated USC with a Bachelors in Public Affairs and a Master of Public Administration.

6. Who was your favorite teacher or mentor growing up, and why? Father Lewis. He made history class come alive and made it so interesting!

7. What is your vision for Douglas County School District? To become the “light house “ District as it once was in the past, and to obtain fiscal solvency.

8. How do you stay connected with the schools in the district? During my first ten years as a Trustee, I conducted site visits every week to different schools.

9. What are your favorite local spots in the community? Round Hill Pines Beach Club, and Genoa Lakes.

10. What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Sailing, biking and motorcycle riding.

11. What’s a hidden talent you have that most people don’t know about? I have a sense of humor?

12. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Europe (Born in Paris, lived in Versailles)

13. What’s a bucket list item you have accomplished? I sailed to Hawaii.

14. If you could instantly learn any skill, what would it be? To play the piano.

15. What’s your go-to karaoke song? Bruce Hornsby “The Way It Is”

16. What do you think makes Douglas County schools special? The dedicated teachers, staff and committed parents.
